Recovering an AIR-AP2802i: no space left on device

I'm playing with Mobilty Express. It worked great with 4 APs but now I'm stuck with a 2802i.

I tried to convert it to the mobility image but it failed. Now every time I try to install a new ME or CAPWAR-Image I get

#ap-type mobility-express tftp://192.168.127.1/AIR-AP2800-K9-ME-8-3-112-0.tar

Starting the ME image download...

It may take a few minutes to finish download.

If it is longer, please abort command, check network connection and try again

#######################################################################   99.4%

Image downloaded, writing to flash...

do CHECK_ME, part1 is active part

tar: write error: No space left on device

sh: write error: No space left on device

Error, image file size is smaller than image+key+signature 0x02339000 : 0x02ae45a1

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

part.bin signature verification failure, exit the script

Error: Image update failed.

show flash

Filesystem            Size  Used Available Use% Mounted on
flash                57.5M 64.0K 54.4M   0% /storage

Unfortunately I did not found a recovery procedure for the 2802. Performing a factory reset with the mode switch did not help.

Any way to start from scratch?

Thanks,

Andreas

The Mobility Express image is corrupt.  Kindly download again from the Cisco website.  And before you continue further, make sure you compare the MD5 hash value of the file downloaded against the MD5 hash value found in the Cisco website.

Hi Leo,

thanks, but I verified the hash, it's correct. In fact I used the same image with several APs and it's only failing on this one.
I tried to install 8.3.102.0 and a CAPWAP image, always ending with "No space left on device" errors.
I guess the image-size-error is a secondary error of the "no space" issue.

I found a workaround:

I managed to install ap3g3-k9w8-tar.153-3.JD4.tar with the "archive download-sw" command on partition part2.

After booting to part2 the installation of AIR-AP2800-K9-ME-8-3-112-0.tar did succeed and the "no space left on device" messages were gone.

Hey,

How did you changed the boot to part2

I can the boot is part2 but giving below error
