Regards, i'm sorry but, i don't speak so good english, i help myself with a translator, i'm informatic engineer student and i'm doing an investigation about networks wireless, i have the following scenario, two distant buildings E1 and E2, the first is the headquarters  where there a private network, I need to know if there a cisco device that connects through a VPN to the network that is building E1 and that allows connect through wifi to a group of people in a meeting room at E2, also I can change that device to another room without any additional configuration. I think that that device is named remote access point. someone can help me please.

Hi Elvin,

Yes, as long as you have Cisco wireless network  (managed via wireless LAN controller - WLC) in building E1 then you can extend it to any other building.

In your case if there is no direct connectivity (fibre or any other medium) between E1 & E2 buildings, but still have some internet connectivity to building E2, you can configure a Cisco AP as "Office Extend" mode you can extend a WLAN available in E1 to that AP.

Refer below post to see how you configure AP in this mode

Once configure, you can take this AP anywhere & plug it to internet connected data point & it will make your SSID available in that location.

It depends on the number of users in E2, if users are few in number then you can go with OEAP models, else flexconnect will be a better option.
