RF Grouping

Babak KHorshid

Hi everyone

I have a WLC 5508 and 4402

when I try to add this two into one RF grouping I get this:

Controller NameIP Address  10.66.4.250    (Invalid IP)

the IP addresses are correct and accessible. can anyone tell me why I get this error?

Additional info:

5508 software 7.6.120.0

4408 software 7.0.240.0

they are part of the same Mobility group.

4402 does not support AC but I get this error on 802.11b/g/n band as well

5508 is set to leader but it is the same error vice-versa

can the different software version be the reason?

Yes, two software versions you mentioned incompatible. Below is from 7.4RRM guide (page 14). As you can see even 7.4 is only compatible with 7.2 onward for RRM

You are one of my friend here in AU, so should treat you well.
