Why can't I statically assign a channel on a non-root 1300 Bridge? I keep losing connectivity to my root bridge (which I can assign a channel)every time it scans for the least congested channel.

Hello Chris,

The channel only needs to be set on the Root bridge. The Root will dicatate which channel the two will use. We plan to make this more clear in future release of IOS. As this is kind of confusing as on the non root side you can slect a channel and apply it without any error or warning being report,but this just reverts back to use least congested channel.
