Hi Guys,
Does anyone ever tried to run LLDP on a 5508 Wireless Controller? I need to start preparing the network for a future mixed environment where we will have Cisco and Juniper equipment. For now we still only run Cisco, but I´m trying to run LLDP between the Cisco switches and Access Points. After enabling the command "lldp run" globaly on the switches, I can see the switches via "show lldp neighbours", but I no longer see the Access Points. When using CDP I can normally see everything, so my problem is to get to see the Cisco Access Points, which are operating as lightweight and connected to a 5508 WLC, the software version running on the WLC is 8.0.121.0.
According to some documentations LLDP is supported on the WLC after the version 7.4, so thereoretically the option for LLDP should be present?
Could anyone share some experience on this topic?
Thanks in advance.

Do have a native VLAN on your port configs
example using DOTQ
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 123 ( same vlan as your WLC management interface )
switchport mode trunk

LLDP is on by default on APs and should just work without any specific configuration - you shouldn't be manually entering commands on a CAPWAP AP anyway.
LLDP is not however supported on the WLC itself so you will not see the WLC itself show up in LLDP tables on the switch. There is an existing bug for this enhancement so if you want it then either speak to your AM or log a TAC case and have it linked to that bug ID.
