We currently have a production SSID where the clients DHCP(/23) scope is a 90% full. I want to setup another /23 that has access to the same SSID. How can that be done and what is the impact of this, will the wireless clients for this SSID just round-robin between the DHCP scopes.

Depends on the firmware of the controller. I believe 8.X.X.X (and later) supports Interface Group feature which is like "ip address <IP ADDRESS> <SUBNET MASK> secondary" function.
