I am looking to move to a more secure wireless network for the business. Currently WPA is used. Microsoft says the solution is to move to a Radius server. I am looking at Free Radius.
Why would I do Radius instead of LDAP for authentication ?
Can someone explain to me how the process of authentication works with LDAP or with Radius ?

Hi Gene,
LDAP has limitations.."The LDAP backend database supports these local EAP methods: EAP-TLS, EAP-FAST/GTC, and PEAPv1/GTC. LEAP, EAP-FAST/MSCHAPv2, and PEAPv0/MSCHAPv2 are also supported but only if the LDAP server is set up to return a clear-text password. "
There is no such limitations when RADIUS is used!!
Lemme know if this answered ur question and please dont forget to rate the usefull posts!!
