Hi, I have installed an AP 1230 model (AIR-AP1232AG-A-K9), It was configured to operate in 802.11b and g standard. Through site survey I could appreciate very strong fluctuation in strength signal but not in quality signal. What could be the reason for this?
The site survey was done at laptop with a wireless card AIR-PCM352

It is possible to have high signal strength with poor signal quality, or, low signal strength with good / excellent quality.
If you are in an environment with many other signals in the same band (other 802.11() stations, wireless phones, some microwave ovens ...) and/or environments that cause a lot of multipath of your signal, then even a strong signal will be read with poor signal quality. You should try other channels, and if you still can't find a good SQ, then think about moving to another band (like 802.11a - 5.8GHz).
If you are in a relatively rf"quiet" environment, and / or an environment that doesn't cause a lot of multipath, then even a fairly weak signal can provide data that is easily discriminated ... weak signal, high signal quality.
Between the two (strength vs quality) signal quality is much more important.
