Hi Every one,
I am trying to transfer a file from skype over cisco WLC, but the transfer is very slow (over an hour) for a small kb of file. The same setup is running fine if I do it on local intranet.
I have also enabled the peer to peer blocking mode in WLC, but in vain.
Some one please help me on this as this is very urgent for me.

SIAH

The software version you are running is very very old. If WLC is 4400 or 2100 I would like you to upgrade it to 7.0.250.0.
Once you do that upgrade, then you should modify few of your WLAN settings.
- WMM should be enabled
- WPA2/AES should be enable
- WPA2/TKIP should be disable
Without upgrading WLC you may not able to do all required WLAN configuration.

Guys, please help me on this.....I am stuck and need a quick resolution.

Are these file transfer happening two wireless end points connect two APs manged by same WLC ? If it is the case, pls attach "show client detail <mac_address>" & "show wlan <wlan_id> outputs
Point to Point Blocking should be "disabled" if you transfer file between two wireless clients.

Hello Friends,
I have just figured out some thing.
The file transfer between 2 PC's running on same SSID is very quick. Say 30MB of file is transferred on skype in less than a minute.
But if I do a file transfer from local LAN with a proxy server to a PC connected wirelessly, it takes over an hour.
The LAN has a bandwidth of 4MB and ISP side is 20MB.
Also, a PC from a different ISP is taking ages to send a file on a PC connected wirelessly in my network.
PLease share some light on this guys........Is it because of the software of WLC that is creating a problem or some thing else.

Hello,
as the file is taking more than one hour, so please check on the proxy server or the client it self ,
here is why:
1)the client signal and SNR ratio are perfect , we should ecxlude any interference or noise related issue ,
2)as the file take one hour so if we look into the traces we would see alot of TCP RST sent from the server ,
3)it should be a TCP traffic related issue with the both ends (client and server)
--have you tested the same senario with different client types ?
--to get the best wireless performence , test the same with open WLAN ,
--did you modified the changes that Riska suggested ?

No, The software upgrade is not updated. It is still running on the old one.
10-13-2014 03:18 AM
Hi,
Are you running 8.0 ? As their is rate limiting feature there per application (not all application) .Also if the skype is slow ..it should be for all the application.

the software version is 3.2.195.10
10-13-2014 01:14 PM
does these files goes through mobility tunnels ?
10-14-2014 12:45 AM
No, the file transfer is between 2 PC's, both connected on same SSID of WLC, but at a very slow rate.
For a small kb, it take around an hour.
