Hi all;
I have bought a C9130AXI recently for my home lab setup. I installed Catalyst 9800-CL with 17.12.4 version and configured it accordingly for the first AP join operation. Everything worked as expected but when I checked the dashboard I noticed the following problem:
Any ideas?
Thanks

I think that's the issue, can you use POE+ or power injector ? if not this is expected behavior.
see the power specs here

It’s disabled by default, When you enable the dual radio mode setting, the 8x8 radio is split to two independent 5-GHz 4x4 radios. In this mode, slot 1 and slot 2 are active independent 4x4 radio interfaces. They can serve different user groups with different assigned channels.
refer to this guide for enabling it manually and also read the restrictions around it.

Another consideration but still the same problem. Based on Cisco:
Certain AP models such as the Catalyst 9130 and the 9124 are capable of triradio operations. The flexible slot is not the 2.4 GHz slot anymore, but thanks to the 8×8 5 GHz radio, they can divide their 5 GHz radio (slot 1) into two separate 5 GHz radios (slot 1 and slot 2), each capable of 4×4 operations. This makes for three Wi-Fi radios (one 2.4 GHz and two 5 GHz) on top of the Bluetooth and IoT radios that can still be operational at the same time and the RF-ASIC, which could also count as an extra radio.
By default, such APs operate with a single 5 GHz radio in 8×8. Enabling triradio must first be done globally; otherwise, the AP-specific option stays inactive.
Based on the above statement, I configured the WLC accordingly:
As you can see above, the same result as before...
Any ideas?

Can you follow the section “Configuring the Cisco Catalyst 9130 Series tri-radio” and try again.
did the AP reboot after you applied the change ?
there is a restriction with few external antennas but it should work with AXI

Thanks for your reply;
This is my current configuration:
I have restarted the AP nut with the same result...

Since this is in your home lab, how much power you have coming to this APs ? Is it POE+ ?

Interesting considerations. Unfortunately not:
