Hi

We got two sites both having WLC 5508 and 20 Access Points each. Both Location are connected to each other via Metro WAN Link to share ERP and replicate Windows AD Domain / Email.

Location A got 3 SSID

Data SSID :  DATA.ED

Voice SSID : VOICE.ED

GUEST.ED : GUEST.ED

Can we have the same name SSID in Location B, users moving from one location to another location can connect as long as they are authenticated.

Authentication method on Location A & B is 802.1x uisng Radius

I am interested to understand how Cisco manages for their roaming users between sites.

Thanks

Vishal

Yes.  You may also want to use H-REAP.

If you have two sites and between the two sites you do not have wireless coverage, you don't/can't "roam".   But you can re-authenticate when you get to an area when wireless coverage becomes available.  If this is the case, then yes.  This is very possible.  The client will have to get a new DHCP and authentication restarts itself.
