We have a group of fat access-points in the network. Do you know whether 1602 series access-points can act as mesh access-points without a controller?
Technically it won't do MESH, as that is a controller feature. But it will allow you to use root/non-root or repeater mode. Repeater will be closest in functionality to MESH. But keep in mind that you lose half your bandwidth with each hop.SteveSent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App
If i deploy a controller , can 700 series access-points act as mesh APs?
I dont see any reference related to that in cisco website.
I don't know if they can or not since its not shown in this v7.6 guide:
Here is a guide regarding indoor mesh, so you get a good understanding of what it can and can't do.
