Testing a wireless network's performance capabilities

I need to know the capabilities of the current wireless environment  at a praticular site that consists of two 5508 WLCs and 170 or so 3500 and 3600 series access points. The two controllers host all of the access points at the site as well as LAPs at remote locations. All LAPs have gigabit connections to their host switches and the host switches have either 1 or 10GB fiber uplinks to the core.

I'm looking for info such as what type of load would have to be applied to a single access point for its performance to be affected? What type of load would the access points on a certian floor have to have before the performance of the wireless network as a whole (floor) is affected? Is there a tool out there that can help me figure these things out about our wireless network?
