Hi all
Im trying to upgrade an NCS 1.1.1.24 to the new PI 1.2 release
The release notes tells me to run a patch before upgrading.
When trying to install the ncs_patch-1.1.1.24-upgrade-pi_1.2 patch it gives an error message telling me that this is already installed.
Is everything ok then, and should I just proceed with the PI-upgrade-bundle-1.2.0.103 ?
Thanks.

That command is for an upgrade not for a patch. Try patch install

As long as the patch has been installed you can upgrade using the bundle. The bundle will fail if the patch was not installed.

Well the trouble is that it does not install the patch.
It just stops telling me that: "This version of the application is already installed. Remove first if reinstall is desired".
This happens right after step 2 of 7 (unpacking files).

I had no issues with my upgrade. Try to stop the NCS and patch it.

So are you trying to upgrade or install the patch? If the patch errors out saying its installed, just upgrade using the bundle. Now when upgrading the bundle, does it fail.

Im trying to upgrade using the patch first (as described in the release notes).
But perhaps Im using a wrong command ?
Im using the application upgrade command to try and install the patch, before trying to upgrade using the upgrade bundle.
Is this wrong ?

Just tried to upgrade using the bundle as you suggested.
As long as the patch has been installed you can upgrade using the bundle. The bundle will fail if the patch was not installed.
It downloads, unpacks and the fails with : "one or more required RPMs not not found in the bundle".
So I assume that this is because the patch is not installed.

Yeah... this is the same for the other Cisco products. Here is the reference command:
