We have an installation with approx 18 access points in a fairly small warehouse. The Cisco 1200 APs are running firmware version 12.01 T1.
We have 3 VLANs at this facility and the cisco switches are doing trunking while the APs are doing 802.1Q tagging, essentially a hybrid trunk. We have approx 95 clients. These consist of Spectralink phones and voice activated talkman terminals on one VLAN doing 128 bit WEP. PCs and laptops on another VLAN doing LEAP/PEAP aunthentication. and legacy telxon equipment on its own separate VLAN without security. Spectralink recommends that only 5 phones should connect per AP. My question is, are we overloading the APs with all this overhead? The issue we are having is that the phones cutout and do not function correctly. You can hold a conversation but it is of poor quality. We have gone over the config with Spectralink and have run out of options. The other clients appear fine.

Have you explored any of the QoS mechanisms on the access point for the voice vlan?

Yes we have but this is related to Symbol phones it seems, not Spectralink. I did see a note out there about Cisco Cetralized Key Management (CCKM) that can be used for Spectralink phones but I would have to put IOS on the AP. Has anyone tried CCKM?
Thanks.
