We are starting to roll out a few Win7 devices. Even on our Guest WLAN, they are taking longer to authenticate on the AP1231 than WinXP. The APs are controlled by a WLC, which connects to NAC. Had anyone had this issue? What was your fix?
Thanks Mucho!!!

Can we have more info ?
Is there dot1x authentication involved ? PSK ?
What takes a long time ? getting an ip ? Passing the NAC authentication ?
It would be nice to narrow down which part takes a long time.

Nicolas, thanks for your reply.
Is there dot1x authentication involved ? No, this is happening even on our Guest WLAN which is wide open
PSK ? No, see above
What takes a long time ? getting an ip ? Yes
Passing the NAC authentication ? WLC shows that the client as Associated but not Authenticated, so . . .
It would be nice to narrow down which part takes a long time.
Also, is there a setting in the WLC to cut the time that a client is removed after logging out or swapping to a different WLAN?
Thanks Mucho!!!

The setting "Fast SSID change" in the controller tab actually, when disabled, prevents a client to change WLAN on the WLC.
If you are constantly swapping SSIDs, enabling the feature might be interesting.
Are all the SSIDs going through NAC ?
