I have an AIR-LAP1242AG-A-K9, serial number FTX1623B0RX. I just need to know how old this unit is. Any idea how I find that info? (I haven't attached it to our Cisco account, so I can't open a TAC for it.)
Thanks!

Try this ...
1. Go to the Service Contract Centre: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/437/scc/index.html
2. Click "Launch Tool"
3. A window should hopefully pop up. In the search bar, choose "Serial Number" and you enter you-know-what in the box next to it.
4. Here's the funny bit ... If you have a result, then good. If you don't you'll have a hyperlink to "log a support case". I recommend this is your next step. It takes Cisco a maximum of 4 hours to respond to your initial queries.
