I have Cisco 1140 AP which I have configured as WPA2-AES encryption. To get maximum throughtput I shutdown 2.4 GHz interface and transmitting signal only on 5 GHz and channel width is 40 MHz.I am not broadcasting SSID
Now when I connect two windows XP machines to wireless they are working good and getting 300 Mbps throughtput. Now I configured another three WIndows 7 machine( I am sure that I did correct conffiguration in windows 7 machine and I choose "connect even if network not broadcasting")
But after configuration I am not able to see my wireless network and it is not connecting itself. Any suggestion please ?
Thank you,
Nilay

Few questions --
You using WLCs or autonomous access points?
WPA2/AES PSK or 802.1X

It is autonomous AP. My Win 7 laptop is 802.11n capable but it connects to AP only when I turn 2.4 GHz int on..

So it is working on the 2.4 side and NOT the 5 side right?
- Is your 5 GHz radios on?
- Is your client radio 5 ghz enabled?

So XP devices are using teh 5 GHz...
Sounds like a config / problem on your win7 then. Did you check your supplicant and 5GHz enabled in it ?

You can drop into the card settings under the hardware section and see if 5 GHz is turned off.
