Hi,

The configurations that you are entering.. that is..

speed basic-1.0 basic-2.0 basic-5.5 6.0 9.0 basic-11.0 12.0 18.0 24.0 36.0 48.0 54.0

is the Default config for 802.11G and by nature the default configurationas will not appear in the running config.. another example is.. By default Aironet Extentions are enabled on the AP runing config, and in the Show run you will see that.. but when you isue the command no dot11 extension aironet thne this command wil show up!! please make the change and then you will be able to see.. here is the link as well which can be used to set the values..

Hi Surendra,

Thank you for such a wonderful clarification. However, I would like to ask what speed would you recommend to set on the interface to get reliability and stability.

Thanks

It depends on your requirements.. I prefer leaving it to default!!

Hi Surendra,

My environment is such like that

a. WAP configured with 3 ssid's

b.WDS configured

c.Each floor has around 5 access points.

d. Clients associate with laptop wireless device or any other 3rd party device

Please any suggestion.

Hi Sam,

the BEST RANGE will increase the range and decreases the throughput

the BEST THROUGHPUT will increase the throughput but decreases the range.

The DEFAULT will be in between the above both and works great!! i go for Default and make sure we have the seamless roaming between the APs.

Hi Surend,

Thank you for your quick reply.

I've an last question here. at particular locations in our reuirement some clients when they associate with AP and works on application ( hospital mangement system) it seems to be very slow. For diagnosis, i used a ping tool the replies are not stable and sometimes I recieve request timed out.

Even though the client is very near to the AP. Pleas can you suggest. I really appreciate your support.

Thank You

Samir

Ok, the client is near to the AP but are they able to see the SSID?? whats does the log say on the AP when the issue happens??

Yes, the client can see the SSID with with excellent signal. However, i do not see any logs which indicates the issue.

When I visited the client, they are getting speed of 11.0mbps or sometime 48.0 mbps...no stability

This happens when we have RF interference issue as well.. run the carrier busy test and see whats the interference percentage that we see on the Radio channels.

Are you sure you are not running into any interference which is making the the radios change modulation?
