The solution was to reboot the WLC. The wism issue I believe in your code was to upgrade, but like on the 5508, it seems to still be an issue with 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4. Again it once in a while. I have a client with 6 5508's and that has been problematic. But at night we move the APs over and reboot the WLC. We sort of leave it alone unless we need to ssh. Or else we just console in.

well
If the ip connectivity is ok with the WISM controllers you should at least be able to ssh and https by default.
You can console into the wism controllers and enable telnet ssh http https access by adding the following commands:
WLC > config network telnet enable
WLC > config network ssh enable
WLC > config network webmode enable
WLC > config network secureweb enable
For your reference , check this link to check if the WISM controllers are set up properly:

There use to be a bug in the wisms for that. I don't know what code your running but you might want to search the bug tool or look at the open caveat for that code version you are running. The workaround back then was to reload the controller.

Yes... That was the bug... Everything works fine except you could not manage it but was able to manage it using WCS.
There is an issue with the 5508 and ssh. Ssh would work some times and other times it wouldn't. A reboot fixes it, but it does't affect the wireless. Everything still works fine.

Yes... It will only affect one at a time and it hit or miss. Each WLC in a WiSM is a separate unit so one can be affected and the other not. Move the APs off that WLC on that wism and reload that WLC and that will fix it.

Whatever you do, just make sure you read the caveat if you upgrade. I know George and Leo have been running the 7.0.x on the WiSM before they upgraded to the WiSM2 and they seem to be fine with that code. Well it's the latest code you can run on the WiSM anyways. Your probably better off on the latest two versions of 7.0.x.
