Maybe a stupid question but what is the USB-port on the 7921 desktop charger for? I mean it would be nice to be able to use various kind of functions, other than charging the battery, when connecting it to a PC.

It is used to configure the 7921 ip phones. You need to download USB-Install-7921.1-0-1 and install that on your PC.
