Virutal IP address unreachable

Hi,

There’s a virtual IP address that’s unreachable in the new cisco wireless network. Its supposedly a Microsoft cluster IP address for CAS(customer exchange server)Server. The server has an IP address that’s reachable. I am looking for some rule to allow this virtual IP address to be seen, or may it has to do with something in the  CAS server. Please advise.

The WLC is a 2504,the attached is the pings to virtual ip address.

Thank you all.

Can you reach (ping) CAS IP from your wired network ?

It is only unreachable via wireless network, then  configure a wired port to that wirless vlan & see that host can reach CAS virtual IP.

In this way you can isolate the problem. I do not think this is a wireless issue

Hi Rashika,

The virtual IP on the server is reachable via wired network and a wireless non cisco wireless network. Please clarify on your suggestion to "configure a wired port to that wireless vlan",do you mean i configure a port on the wireless lan controller and connect directly to the server? or the configuring to be done on the server port? Attached is the two IPS of the server, the reachable and unreachable one.

Thank you.

Isaac.

Let's assume your wireless SSID is mapped to vlan 100,so wireless clients getting IP from vlan 100. If wireless clients  can't reach CAS virtual IP (ping), then assign a vlan 100 to a wired switchport which connect to a PC. Then try to ping CAS virtual IP from that PC.

This will help you to isolate the issue to do with WLC or the switch config where SVIs defined.

Hi Rasika,

I have only one vlan on my network, that is, vlan 1.However, i had not explicitly configured the access ports to vlan 1,but that should be the default vlan for all ports."show vlan brief" should reveal more info.

Just to clarify what your saying. I should configure the switchport connected to the server with vlan 1 in my case, right?

Thank you.

Isaac
