Want to remote factory default AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9

Hi Everyone

I am after the ability to factory default AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 access points remotely. I have access via SSH and have access to exec.

BUT, I have searched the forums and CISCO documentation and the commands recommended don't exist on these access points.

Listing the commands in exec gives me:

Exec commands:
  <1-99>           Session number to resume
  access-profile   Apply user-profile to interface
  capwap           capwap exec commands
  cd               Change current directory
debug            Debugging functions (see also 'undebug')
dir              List files on a filesystem
  disable          Turn off privileged commands
  do-exec          Mode-independent "do-exec" prefix support
  dot1x            IEEE 802.1X Exec Commands
  eap              EAP Exec Commands
  enable           Turn on privileged commands
  exit             Exit from the EXEC
help             Description of the interactive help system
  led              LED functions
  lock             Lock the terminal
  logging          Handles logging operations
login            Log in as a particular user
  logout           Exit from the EXEC
  lwapconfig       OfficeExtend AP configurations
  lwapp            lwapp exec commands
  monitor          Monitoring different system events
more             Display the contents of a file
name-connection  Name an existing network connection
  no               Disable debugging functions
  partition        Partition disk
  ping             Send echo messages
  pwd              Display current working directory
send             Send a message to other tty lines
  show             Show running system information
systat           Display information about terminal lines
  terminal         Set terminal line parameters
  traceroute       Trace route to destination
undebug          Disable debugging functions (see also 'debug')
  verify           Verify a file
  where            List active connections

So can anyone recommend anything? I do not have physical access to the access points (they are on remote sites) and the CISCO 5508 controller has lost sight of them.

Thanks in advance.

Wait for the answer from TAC.  You really can't reset the AP's uncle its joined or it you are consoled into the AP. most likely something else you need to change to get them to join.

That access point has been converted to lightweight and if you plan on using it as an autonomous ap, you need to convert it first. You need a valid support contract to download the autonomous image to convert the AP. there are many docs showing you how to do this also and some YouTube videos.  If the AP is on the network and joined to a WLC, you can reset that AP from the WLC.

Hi Scott

The access points (about 10 of them around the country) are on the network and "joined" to the 5508 WLC. However these access points, while they do connect to the WLC, immediately disconnect, meaning I can't reset them from the WLC.

I also don't want to convert them to autonomous as I do still want to manage them from the WLC.

I also have TAC looking at this, but am hoping for other ideas?
