WAP-571 - MAC filtering with a virtual machine's bridged network adapter

I have a ubuntu host laptop with windows 10 guest running in VMware Player. The Anyconnect client running on Guest OS cannot connect to asa vpn without changing VMware Network Adapter from NAT to Bridge. But, when I enable MAC filtering on the WAP517, the guest OS receives APIPA address and breaks host OS wifi connection.

restart guest OS and re-initialize host OS wifi to reconnect

I have entered both host and guest nic MAC addresses in WAP571 MAC filter allow list.

After running a packet capture, the MAC address from the Host OS nic is broadcasted in the Guest OS's frame during DHCP. It seems that the WAP filter list will not allow one MAC address to receive two IP addresses.

Is it possible to make the mac filtering allow list work with a bridged virtual machine? Or is an ACL your only option here?
