WAP supported in WCS

Hi Expert,

I'd like to know how many Wireless AP Model can WCS supported for design, I mean I want to design Wireless for building and I am using WCS but I didn't find 1602 model from Cisco, I want to know if there is some files I have to updated.

I am using a trial version 7.0

What APs will depend on the firmware version of your WLC.  

So if your the firmware of your WLC is "supported" by WCS then the AP will.  

If you have AP1600, then you'll need WLC running firmware version 7.4.100.X.  Officially, this version (7.4.100.X) is not supported.  Unofficially, this version can be supported, in a limited way, by WCS.

I am going to use 1602 type in my project and I need to make a simulation design through WCS, but I didn't find it, Is there any kind of AP can be the same of 1602?

Hi Mohammad, 

I believe you are NOT READING what I've posted.  

Let me repeat what I've posted above:  Your AP will depend entirely on the firmware your WLC runs on.  For an AP1600, your WLC should be running a firmware of 7.4.100.X.  If your WLC can run this version, then, potentially, your WCS can "see" your WLC as well as your AP.  

HINT #1:  What is the exact model of your WLC?

HINT #2:  Can your WLC support firmware version 7.4.100.X?

I understand this issue in WLC! but I want to make design for my project and I didn't connect to WLC and I want to use map option and make simulation design before I install any thing in the Site! do you understand me NOW?

If you are new to wireless then I would suggest you get a proper wireless site survey done.  

I've seen, many of times, of novice who, without any knowledge in enterprise-grade wireless deployment, say "here and here, deploy the AP" and get it wrong.   It doesn't matter if you are using WCS' "planning" feature, you still won't get it right.  WCS' "planning" feature only serves as a "guide" and not a definite or conclusive way to determine how-many APs and where-to-install the APs.  

Wireless site survey, second to none.  Period.
