HI all,
actually I want to understand the WCCP protocol in a wireless environment, and this environment still not available but I want to design a solution for this issues.
suppose we have a wireless controller with access points, and we create 2 SSIDs: one of them used for local users who make authentication using our LDAP and after successfully connecting all these users get the the proxy IP from our policy.
the second SSID used for guest, who make authentication using the Local database in wireless controller and using web authentication. but these users will not join our domain and they will not get the IP address of proxy,, and we dont want to configure the guest's devices manually for the proxy ip address.
so the question here is , how can we allow the guest users to browse the internet through our proxy server without need to configure the proxy ip manually..
should I use WCCP ? and is there any technique to configure proxy in the wireless controller itself ?? and if we configure the WCCP is there any extra commands need to be configured in wireless controller ?
Thanks in advance for your clarifications

#LDAP can be used with webauthentication.

thanks for reply,,
I read the recommended documents that you mentioned above, but my issue is how to allow wireless users to connect to our network using web authentication and at the same time without configure the manual proxy settings on client's device,,
so we have to use WCCP to redirect the traffic of http to the proxy server.
is there any relation or combination between WCCP and wireless controller or not?

I also think that you can use automatic configuration script for the proxy.
If the script correctly written so it directs traffic from virtla interface correctly then - I think - that will work to achieve whta you need.

thank you amjad,
maybe we have to configure WCCP in the core switch to redirect the traffic of HTTP and HTTPS,, because we dont want to configure any settings in the guest's devices like script or manual ip adress for proxy ...
