WCS Question?

Dear All,

I just want to know that with WCS can we do Live Survey's for our different clients as i am working with Cisco Solution Partner or shall i need some other software to do live site survey like AirMagnet, or Ekahau site survey?

WCS can do predictive survey only. It's useful to have a global idea of how many APs you need.

It does NOT replace a real site survey which checks for interference etc and where you can test various AP placement.

Is WCS helpful for performing a live survey or shall i use some other software for doing a live site survey like Air Magnet? i am using trail version of WCS which supports 10 AP's only, can i design 33 floors with trial version of WCS?

Hi Saim,

I just answered that question.

WCS just gives you a rough idea of how many AP you need. It does not replace a full site survey with dedicated software where you test AP placements. I guess you can design 33 floors with trial WCS. Even if you could not, you can just do 10 floors, delete them (after taking a backup) and then doing 10 other floors ...
