Hi there,
My customer would like to provide some extra coverage in a warehouse environment by using what is known in the consumer and SMB market as WDS, Wireless Distribution System. Is this functionality compatible with current WLAN controller and lightweight AP technology, or is there another way to extend wireless coverage to area's where no wired network is present? I'm not referring to the wireless mesh technology with the AP1500 range, but just providing one extra hop to far away places 'over the air'.
The rest of the installation would be based on a normal WLAN controller and 1100/1200 AP's.
I've been searching CCO for 'WDS' but always end up with Cisco proprietary WDS (wireless domain services) from the times with autonomous AP's.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction?
Hans

Hans,
With the WLC you can do an 'indoor' MESH as well. This uses the 1131/1242 etc AP's. So long as the AP can get power, it'll use the 5GHz radio to join the WLC, and serve clients as well. Below is a link to the Indoor MESH Deployment Guide, for you to peruse.
