Web Interface insecure?

The corporate telecom guys at my company disable the web interface to the Cisco 1200's we use because they say it is insecure. They say it transmits data in clear text and therefore makes the network or device vulnerable. Is this accurate? The web interface is much easier to use when troubleshooting configuration issues and our field network admins would like it enabled as not all of them are proficient with CLI.

You could enable SSL on your 1200 so that you can have a secure communication. Then you will be using https instead of http.
