Hello,
I have a laptop running Ekahau site survey, Inssider and windows powershell command netsh wlan show interface.
Ekahau and Inssider tells me the RSSI level is -43dbm. Windows power shell command output tells me 84%.
I have found the formula to convert % to dbm. It is the following: %/2-100=dbm so 84% = -58dbm
Ekahau shown me my current speed was 144Mb/s, Windows showed 130Mb/s.
I am associated to the SSID. The difference is quite huge.
In which one should I trust?

I go by the majority rule here. Trust what Ekahau & InSSIDer said.

You are sure that Ekahau and Windows are reporting about the same NIC?

Where does that formula come from? It results in the range from -100 dBm to -50 dBm (0%..100%).
This is a good document on these metrics: http://madwifi-project.org/attachment/wiki/UserDocs/RSSI/Converting_Signal_Strength.pdf?format=raw
