Wi-Fi Heat Maps

Any tool, application, method to produce Wi-Fi heat-maps for the MR APs before deployment?

Thank you

I use Ekahau Pro AI with a spectrum analyzer. It can also do predictive surveys based on floor plans and building materials, etc. If you are a Cisco partner this used to be free on Cisco.com somewhere. I haven't looked for a while.

You can try Yagna:

I am not a Cisco employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Does YagnaIQ have Meraki APs in it?

I have used this tool for a long time. The last time I used it recommended putting in so many APs you couldn't fail, but the cost would have been huge.

Is it better now?

Cant believe Cisco partners with Yagnaiq. Site only gives you basic (water marks and no print out) and is barely functional.

I believe this is what is expected, if you want more features you need to pay for it, like any other tool.

I guess but the tool isn't very intuitive nor useable to generate sales (isn't that the point?). I used the ubiquity tool one earlier, their hardware is 1/4 - 1/10th the price of a MR. I want to be able to justify the price difference as I know from experience that the MRs cover better than the Ubiquiti APs. Especially since I am putting a MX in there as their router. We aren't talking about just one, this is a 3 level plant thats like 28000 sq ft per level. I am currently looking at 7-8 U7 pro max APs from Ubiquiti plus a controller. Even then with some of the challenges (like having to use existing wired spots / concrete walls / massive pumps and filters etc.) if I could prove it to my boss and customer they would get better coverage it might make sense.

I believe the tool isn't for that purpose, but rather for small projects that don't require something so elaborate.

If you want something more professional, the best option is to invest in a tool like Ekahau.
