Hello

In the past I have used the ---command line of controller ----       SHOW ADVANCED 802.11A txpower

to obtain the power levels from my AP and what each DBm /mw they were

I Can do this on every AP I have ever had

1131

1231

1142

2602

3602

2702

3702

I can do the same on B/G radio as well all these APs  above

SHOW ADVANCED 802.11b TXPOWER

For the new 2800 AP I can can only do this on this on A   show advanced 802.11tA xpower

and get my out put for channels

2800

example-- ch 161          23/20/17/14/8/5/2

FOR B/G nothing

for show advanced 802.11b txpower   nothing comes up   BLANK

I notice in the web interface for the radio  says 2.4 Ghz local for 3800   ( RADIO MODE ) the 1142 and all other APs dont say LOCAL

how do I get the reall TX power on the B/G side on the new AP's this seems stupid

Hi,

The AP 2800 and 3800 contain a Flexible Radio Architecture, please see link

Understanding Flexible Radio Assignment (software overview)

Therefore, instead of typing "show advanced 802.11b txpower"(cause this AP not contains a dedicated 2.4–GHz radio, it contains a Flexible Radio) you have to type "show advanced 802.11-abgn summary"

No the answer is the CODE doesn't work correctly BUGGY and is fixed after 8.5.120 <-- show advanced tx power doesn't work as the code is broken for B/G with this output before 8.5.120 on the 2800 and 3800 AP
Works after TAC engineer tested and told me to use a later code 8

this AP not contains a dedicated 2.4–GHz radio, it contains a Flexible Radio, so if you type "show advanced 802.11-abgn summary" you can see txpower

This output from my WLC:

(wlc5520-usc) >show advanced 802.11-abgn summary

look if your a CISCO employee go look at case # SR# 684073088 AIR-CT2504-5-K9

I have my answer now and the issue is corrected--by a tac engineer.  go look at the notes under the case

the output did not work with the Show advanced 802.11b tx power with other code -and has been corrected with the 8.5.120 code  advised by cisco tac engineer for 2504

I understand the radio is different on this ap -- your posting out from a 5520

my case was a 2504

when I used the show advanced 802.11-abgn summary it also did not the output

I use RF profiles with max and Min ranges and needed the REAL output which worked on the show advanced 802.11a txpower but not 802.11b txpower

IT WORKS NOW <----WITH A CODE UPGRADE --- PER ENGINEER   SR# 684073088 AIR-CT2504-5-K9     it displays output now when you type the command

Thanks for info,

in release that my wlc running (8.2.167.6) "show advanced 802.11b txpower" not working, but "how advanced 802.11-abgn summary "  give some info, not such detailed, but txpower is present

Excuse for troubling...

Guy -it is FIXED now??? and the case is closed ???if you feel the need to hound someone --->go to the tac engineer that advised me at CISCO if you work at CISCO call--> talk to him
I gave you the case# there are screen caps of the output not working if you feel your better then him please connect him and tell him hes doing a bad job fixing and advising
The closure of the case the is resolved
