Wireless Bridges won't associate

arshdeepsingh.grover
Community Member

I have two 1602E configured as wireless bridges.

they connect fine when are close to each other, but when put around 25 meters apart disassociate.

Can someone help me in resolving this issue.

Thanks

Hi @arshdeepsingh.grover

They are standalone or they are on WLC?

What about their power? As per you description, looks like they have weak signal.

When they are 25 meters apart, do they

free line of sight or there's some obstacle between them?

These are Standalone APs

The Power is set to max level

and there is a clear line of sight between these APs

What antennas do you have one these 1602e’s? Also what band are you using as the backhaul?

Antenna gain can help depending what you are trying to do here but also the band is where you might want to play with also.

I'd recommend a site survey just to make sure you don't have a strong interference weakening the signal. If not, I'd say you have some faulty AP in your hands. 25 meters is too close.

There are some commands you can run and share the output. Also, if possible, share show running-config.

  • debug mesh security events enable
  • debug mesh security message enable
  • debug dot1x events enable
  • debug dot1x packet enable
