Wireless client reassociation

Hi

I have some troubles with one of my clients on my wireless networks.

The session timeout on my WLC is 30min. per default and the clients gets disconnected every 30 min as expected. But this one client takes about 1-2 minutes before i reconnects.

Is there any reason for this or is it a client problem?

If it’s one device that has this issue then it’s the device. I personally disable session timers or increase that to a higher value.

Hi

All the other devices seems to reconnect within 1-2 seconds.
I was thinking about changing the session timer to 4/8 hours, do you have any commends on if this is a good or a bad idea?

That is fine. If it was a guest SSID that is using a portal page, then I would set it higher. If it’s WPA2, for example, setting that to 4/8 is a good start. You need to also look if the re-association happens when the device comes out of sleep or hibernate because that might be just a device issue.
