Wireless device controller - licences

I have 5 Cisco CAP3502E AP's running in autonomous mode. I am thinking about switching to Lightweight and using a controller. Any suggestions on which controller would work best. The reason I am considering switching from autonomous to lightweight is that I would like to have granular control over the connected clients (MDM) mobile device management. For example, bandwidth quotas, web based filtering, and device filtering.

Also how do the licences work for the controllers? Are they necessary? And approximately how much are they? Are they per AP?

Thanks in advance.

HI Ed,

Follow this post to convert to Lightweight.

3502E support minimum version 7.0.98.Xversion.

You can use 2500 series, 5500 series.

Understand of WLC Licencing:

Licenses can be purchased through Cisco or your       Cisco reseller. For instructions on how to obtain an upgrade license for the       number of supported APs

Its also depends on your location and contract with your IT support partnet ...they may can give some offer:
