What firmware is the controller on?

What model of APs are affected?

  - Post views, logs (AP or controller) , screenshots , of the problems you are observing.
Your controller platform is  rather old ;  use the software version mentioned in
    https://software.cisco.com/download/specialrelease/9a6a7cf84f9fdf04b95c76e2ac7820e7

    That comes from https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/wireless-lan-controller-software/200046-tac-recommended-aireos.html
it is important to use the last release for these older controllers,

HI @marce1000
As this WLC is end of life i will not be possible to upgrade the firmware now.

do you recommend to upgrade a firmware for EOSL device.

   - @MAHI_VYAS   You should 'even more' upgrade if the device is  EOL , because cisco is abandoning support
for the older aireos platforms, and the last release has the final bug fixes (too).
Meaning for instance, if you can't upgrade this older controller to the last software
version published and the problem is due to an old bug then you are stuck,

HI @marce1000

Thanks for your valuable suggestions.
What if the device does not come up after upgrade then entire wifi network will be down right.
Then i cannot even reach to cisco for this as this is EOL product.

The behaviour could, potentially, be a software bug.

If nobody wants to upgrade the firmware of the controller then, frankly, nobody should be complaining what the controller &/or the APs do abnormally.

  - @MAHI_VYAS   If you follow standard upgrade procedures then the controller will keep working.
It will also keep the current version as a backup image
As @Leo Laohoo  is indicating : you are a point where this becomes the only way forward (!)

as @marce1000 & @Leo Laohoo  stated, you should consider upgrade the setup. First of all move to a 9800 deployment. If you can't at this point then upgrade the 2504 to the latest 8.5 version.

On an another note, since you have mentioned AP reset by controller - do you have any supportive logs which we can have a look?
