Some operating systems "remember" user credentials. Windows XP put this information into registry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\EAPOL\UserEapInfo\
You can find more information in MS knowledge base, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;823731
You can automate this procedure by putting the following information in file called i.e. delete-cache.reg and executing appropriate command.
-----cut-------
REGEDIT4
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Eapol\UserEapInfo]
-----cut-------
regedit /s delete-cache.reg
