Hello Guys,
We have a strange problem related Cisco wireless lan infraestructure, this infraestructure consist on 2502 wlc ant three 2602 LAPs, almost all devices can connect to the wireless network, in fact, all devices, problem is related with one wireless printer, this printer just can be seen when it has a dynamic address (by DHCP) when we configure static ip address for this printer we cannot print neither ping tho the configurated ip address.
we configured one lap top with a static ip address and it worked well, what can we check?... wlc has any paramter to correct this strange situation or someting like that?. any sugesstion to determinate and solve the problem?... sincerelly thank you so much for your inputs...
These debugs are procces when devices printer/laptop enter to the wirless network.

Here is a doc that talks about devices like printers and scales that are passive:

You might have to enable passive clients or else use mac reservations for DHCP so that the printer keeps the same address.
This is another thread with the same sort of issue:

mmm... what do you mean with passive clients?.. the other case is using Flexconnect and it says that with ip dynamic address wireless printer does not work too. I think that case is similar but with diferent conditions

Well with FlexConnect, passive clients don't work... the issue is that your client may not be responding to the AP properly and sits there silently. The only work around is to either use dhcp mac reservation or maybe a static arp on the router.

Scott

I am agree with you Scott, problem is that the customer will think that Cisco is not so good...this because printer was working with a cheap autonomos access point ... :/

I hear ya... but with the cheap AP, you don't have solid roaming and the other enterprise features. Its just something you need to either play around with and try to get it to work or use dhcp. You can always open a TAC case and see what they have.
Thanks,
Scott
