Wireless roaming with static ip

Hi all

I have a question to ask.

If a laptop with a static IP roams from one AP to another, and both AP are in different WLC , different AP group with different vlan interfaces, can it still roam? Are there any additional configuration needed on the WLC?

When i did my own testing i was surpised it can work, however to my confusion some location dont work either, Both WLC are in the same mobility group, hence i am wondering how does WLC handle a client with static IP, and are there any dependencies on the network side?Eg: The static IP range must be reachable everywhere?

Thanks for the link

If i have multiple WLC with same interfaces and subnet and SSID , they are in same mobility group, when i set static ip and roam around without the static ip tunneling, am i right to say there should still be connectivity?

Because according to the doucment i only need that option if aother WLC does not have subnet of the static IP.

Just to add to Rasika's post, roaming has to do with mobility group.  As long as your controllers are in the same mobility group, the devices will be able to roam from one ap on one controller to another ap on a different controller.  Mobility group allows information to be passed to the controllers in the same  mobility.  So if you have an open SSID and your controllers are in a different mobility group, then the roaming will not be as smooth.  If you have security on your SSID, and the controllers are not on the same mobility, then you have a full roam.
