You need to be more specific what your problems are ..

Hey George,

There was already 2600 sereis running and we installed this 1602APs to cover the required area that was not having coverage but now after installing the emplyoees are facing very weah signals at their places so much so that they have to change their locations to the areas where 2600aps are installed.

and other thing is that in the basement section the ceiling height is 30ft to 35ft there also the ppl are facing problem, i did not understand this as the area is completlety open space

pl help.

Seems like you may have a configuration issue... I would take a look to verify that the 1600's are enabled and both radios are up status. I would also look to see if your using AP Groups and the new AP's are not in the proper group.

As far as the height, I think the issue is finding what the problem is as far as what I mentioned. You could always use conduit pipe and drop the AP's lower to 15' - 20'.  The low voltage guys should be able to do that for you.

guys,

I have been to the site and following things i noticed

1) standing beneath the AP also am geting very bad RSSI

2) There is GSM boosters also installed near the APs

The AP model is AIR-CAP-1602E-EK9 onto which there is external knobs are present for external ANtennas which we are not using. DO i need to buy separate antenna and fix it into the knobs ?

Does the country code on the wlc also affects the configurations? as in my case it been to its default GB (and am in GCC country)

Pl find the outputs as attached

Hi,

Its a AP with external Antenna:AIR-CAP-1602E-E-K9.

You must use External antenna and connect to AP, Without these you will get nothing, means very bad RSSI.

*** There is no problem with country code as Cisco AP and WLC is in same full the regulatory domain/Country.

George/Sandeep,

I do not have the external antennas installed, i guess that all AP has built-in internal antenas so i did not purchased the ext ant.

Do i need to ? without this no other solution?

HI Shaikh, Its and external antenna AP(1602E). There is only solution and that is, buy External Antenna and connect to AP. no other choice.

Hi Sandeep,

Thank You very much for your time.

hi,

can anyone assist, as I would like to know which model of antenna would be feasible enough to provide good signal broadcast and coverage?

We can't properly tell you what would work without really knowing the environment.  This is why a site survey should always be considered.  As far as antennas, you have a few choices:

AIR-AN2524DB-R/AIR-ANT2524DG-R/AIR-ANT2524DW-R

For the high ceilings, I would either ruse the ones mentioned above or these:

AIR-ANT2544V4M-R=

How well they will provide coverage, depends on the building material and attenuation that we can't tell you.

Hi Scott,

AIR-ANT2524DB-R

2.4 GHz 2 dBi/5 GHz 4 dBi Dipole Ant., Blk, RP-TNC

Thanks

If you use the di-pole antennas, make sure that the antennas are pointed vertically and not horizontal or at a crazy angle.  Hope that gets you the coverage you need.

Ok scott will do as directed!

Thanks:p

First things first. Do you have external antennas installed on the al ? Can you take a pic of the ap ?
