Hi All,

We have two WiSM2 in our 6500 Core switches.

We are looking for resilient between them.

Both 6500 have “Supervisor Engine 720 modules -   WS-SUP720-3B”

One WiSM2 has 100 AP licenses with 7.6.130.0 and both WiSM2 has 300 AP license with 7.4.110.0.

We will be upgrade the 7.4.110.0 to either 7.6.130.0 or 7.6.130.26 or 8.0.120.0 once we found which one will be stable and make both WiSM2 to the same level.

And we have two 5508 as Anchor controllers for BOYD.

I know our 6500 Supervisor will not do VSS for HA SSO according the 6500 Datasheets.

Is there another way to get the both our WiSM2 to do Client SSO?

You can use a redundancy VLAN between the two chassis and place both WiSM's in a HA SSO setup. Remember that with HA SSO licenses will not be stacked so you need to make sure that your 300 AP WiSM has enough licenses to support all AP's already or will be upgraded.

With HA SSO there still will be downtime when you perform a code upgrade because of the AP's being rebooted. This is the same as with a traditional N+1 or N+N+1 design. If there is no L2 connection possible between both chassis than you still put both WiSM's in the same chassis or just go with the traditional HA design.
