Yes, a red area means that you WLAN infrastructure is not ready to do location in this area.
To become green, the following conditions need to be met:
- at least four APs are deployed
- at least 3 APs are within 70 feets
- at least one AP is located in each of at least three surrounding quadrants
I would recommend you to follow the following guidelines:
1? The location appliance retains the four highest RSSI measurements plus any measurements above RSSI cutoff.
-> At least three APs (preferbly four) should detect client with RSSI > RSSI cutoff
2? Use proper AP placement:
-> APs should be located 50-70 feet apart
-> Ensure that APs are located along area perimeters, then provide additional interior APs
-> Stagger APs in corridor
-> Avoid center clustered and "straight line" designs
