Hello all,
I am putting together a Wireless LAN solution for a client. Problem is I am using Cisco LEAP for authentication and I can not authenticate to the AP when it is being used as the Authenticator (local radius configuration). It works fine with an External Radius server (I set up ACS-NT), but not locally. Anyone else seen this? Any help gladly appreciated.
1230 A/G Access Point (flash is: 12-3-JA)
A/B/G PCI WLAN Cards
I followed the instructions in the Cisco Press book: Wireless LAN Security and the online link http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps4570/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00801d016a.html but still can not get it working.

Hi Donald
I've recently configured same AP with Cisco LEAP and local Radius. I have had no problem. I did all configuration via web interface, no commands. Have you tried configuring via web ?
My AP is running 12.2(13)JA4
Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice,
I will drop it back to 12.2(13)JA4 and see how it goes. I am die hard command line guy, but I will try it using the web interface.
Strange thing is, it works happily with an external Radius server (ACS), but balks during authentication when using local configuration. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again,
Don G.

Many authentication and DHCP issues with 12.3(2)JA. We use CL to configure our ap's and have just finished testing 12.3(2)JA2 in our envronment and it works for us. The resolved caveats in the JA2 release notes might pertain to some of the issues you are having.
Good Luck -- Gerry

Thank you both!
Upgrading to 12.3(2)JA2 did the trick. Everything is working fine with the local radius configuration now. Thanks again.
