Wlan controller and branch office AP (vlan config)

Hi,

Our wlan controller is located in HQ office and we have APs in branch office. Is it possible to implement two different SSIDs and they should be in two different vlans? So should we configure the AP trunk?

REAP does not support IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging. As such, it does not support multiple VLANs. Traffic from all the service set identifiers (SSID) terminates on the same subnet, but H-REAP supports IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging. Traffic from each SSID can be segmented to a unique VLAN.

Thanks

Yes it is. The ap mode would be set to h-reap/FlexConnect depending on the code you have on the WLC. You can specify the WLAN to vlan mapping for each SSID. Take a look at this guide.

Advantage of H-REAP is you could still have same SSID in your Head Office & Branch, but they can be on two seperate vlans. Have a look below sample configuration I did to understand different method of H-REAP configuration. It is based on the cisco doc Scott mentioned above.
