Since few days the WLC 2100 series controller and 3x LAP1131AG are getting disconnected and the controller gets offline via the local ip address. At that point I have to reboot. To get anywhere and after I connect wirelessly to the AP before I know it it disconnects. It worked for 3 years straight no fuss. And now nothing. I reconfigured the WLC 10times and no diffference. Please logs here below and help, the following is odd and I do not know what it means: Controller is out of sync with the central timebase. Many thanks.

Hi,
the message "Controller time base status - Controller is out of sync with the central timebase." usually means that the WLC is not able to synch with the NTP server.
Also this could be the reason for APs not being able to join the WLC.
Do you have any logs from the APs console or from the WLC console?
On the WLC console, you can enable lwapp debugs and filter by the mac address of a specific AP having trouble to join:
debug mac addr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
debug lwapp packet enable
LWAPP troubleshooting guide: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk722/tk809/technologies_tech_note09186a00806c9e51.shtml.
Please share the debugs with us so we can take a look.

Tiago

The controller out of time sync can be ignored as it can be seen it happened at the same time as a reboot.
So when it boots it is out of time synch but then quickly syncrhonizes itself.

Thank you guys for the responses.
What seems odd is it run for a whole day just fine I connected only 1AP for troubleshooting and then used the wifi on 2 machines all day.
At one point I decided to use my iphone on WiFi too and no later than 1 minute the AP fell from the sync with Controller.
Now that I believe is the real issue. Has anyone heard of such problem before?

Found this post somewhere on the net which it could possibly fix our problem, any idea where to find some of these on a 2100 controller? Got the Beacon interval and the Fragmentation interval. But the rest I cannot find it there, has anyone got an idea? Open the router setup page and under the Wireless tab,Change the Radio band to Wide-40MHz Channel,Wide Channel to 11 and Standard Chanel to 13-2.472Ghz and click on save settings..Under the Advanced Wireless Settings,Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...Under the Security tab, uncheck "Filter Anonymous Internet Requests" and click on save settings..Now,power cycle the network and check.

Hi David,
Those settings have nothing to do with the AP-WLC connectivity.
They are simply related to the Wireless clients and AP connectivity.
If you follow my previous post, maybe we can help you more.

Tiago
