There are various problems with that software version that could cause the WLC to reboot. Rebooting is certainly not normal behaviour. Did the WLC produce a crash log? Alternatively, you could look in to the 7.4.100.60 software and review the resolved caveats to see if any of them look familiar to your deployment?

Hi RikJonAtk
we use [reset system] command to reboot WLC , because we change virtual ip , not crash or others
btw , i will check the release note of lastest software version , review any familiar problem

Post your show run-config and your switch port config

No port channel????
And all the ports go into the same switch and all in the same VLAN???
Doesn't matter if no port fast on the switch as WLC ports have them on. You're lucky you didn't have a loop!

I agree with Leo... You need to understad the basic setup for the WLC or else just use one port only.

WLC 5508 only use one port connect to switch
Ok, then if there's only one port connected to the switch, reboot the WLC and when the port goes into disable again, post this output from the switch: sh interface status err
I've got to see what the switch is kicking!

Hello Asa,
As per your query i can suggest you the following solution-
Complete these steps to reset the WLC to factory default settings using the CLI:
Enter reset system at the command prompt.
At the prompt that asks whether you need to save changes to the configuration, enter Y or N. The unit reboots.
When you are prompted for a username, enter recover-config to restore the factory default configuration.
The WLC reboots and displays the Welcome to the Cisco WLAN Solution Wizard Configuration Tool message.
Use the configuration wizard to enter configuration settings.
Note: Once the WLC is reset to defaults, you need a serial connection to the WLC in order to use the configuration wizard.
Hope this will help you.

Abhishek,
Your post doesn't make any sense!
Your post is to perform PASSWORD RECOVERY on the WLC and it's got nothing remotely related to this thread.
