WLC 5508 - Rehosting a License

Hello,

Would I like to know, if when I Rehost a license from a WLC to another, I I lose a license amount.

For example, I have a WLC with a license of 250 APs. When I Rehost that license to another WLC, Is the license reduced to 200 APs?

Hi Marcus,

I believe you can only re-host adder licenses and not base licenses (might want to confirm with Cisco). For example, you may have an AIR-CT5508-50-K9 which has a 50 base license and then have 150 adders (in various increments). I think in that scenario you would only be able to re-host the 150.

Additionally, I believe you need to have purchased support from Cisco TAC in order to transfer but I could be wrong!
