WLC 5520 TPCv2 missing WLAN APs

Särs Cisco Experts,

we are running on 5520 WLCs and use TPCv2 for Tx Power Control in 802.11b in Channel mode.

The WLC is the RRM-leader showing 1075 WLAN APs coverd in RF group algorithm.

show advanced 802.11b group

...Maximum/Static number of AP.................... 3000/1075

But I have noticed that the output of show advanced 802.11b summary does not cover all of them.

The output contains only 821 APs:

AP_820: [cd:2d:90] Ch 11* TxPower 14dBm (Level 1)* CHDM 0dBm AP Util 37% dBm [14/11/8/././././.]
RxNbrs:: total 6[135:-59][787:-67][142:-74][798:-79][815:-82][137:-92]
TxNbrs:: total 6[135:-60][787:-69][142:-73][798:-79][815:-83][776:-92]
AP_821: [ e:ab:d0] Ch 11* TxPower 8dBm (Level 3)* CHDM 0dBm AP Util 38% dBm [14/11/8/././././.]
RxNbrs:: total 18[143:-59][794:-64][790:-66][146:-77][819:-83][772:-87]..
TxNbrs:: total 17[143:-58][790:-62][794:-67][146:-81][803:-81][131:-82]..

Member RRM Information
AP Name MAC Address Slot Admin Oper Channel TxPower BSS Color
-------------------------------- ----------------- ---- -------- ----------- ------------------ ------------- ---------
WWG-AP04 68:3b:78:76:4f:a0 0 ENABLED UP 6* *3/5 ( 8 dBm) N/A
WWG-AP03 68:3b:78:76:74:e0 0 ENABLED UP 6* *2/5 (11 dBm) N/A

Another strange thing is that output of "show advanced 802.11b summary" does not contain complete info

even for APs in the list.

For example the following AP appears in the output of the command "show advanced 802.11b summary"

only in the last part of the output with following line:

KHN-AP185 1c:6a:7a:e9:55:00 0 ENABLED UP 1* *1/6 (16 dBm) N/A

The 3 lines with info about the radio utility, its BSSID and the RXNbrs/TxNbrs are missing

While another AP is appearing also in the same output showing also the BSSID-info:

AP_638: [e9:5f:60] Ch 6* TxPower 13dBm (Level 2)* CHDM 0dBm AP Util 36% dBm [16/13/10/7/./././.]

RxNbrs:: total 24[668:-38][648:-47][682:-48][333:-52][346:-59][622:-65]..
TxNbrs:: total 24[668:-40][333:-46][682:-50][648:-52][346:-60][675:-62]..

KHN-AP187 1c:6a:7a:e9:5f:60 0 ENABLED UP 6* *2/6 (13 dBm) N/A

Who knows the reason why some WLAN APs are not participating in TPCV2 algorithm

and some of them appear with incomplete information in the output of "show adv 802.11b summary"?

Thank You in advance

Wini

FRA may have converted some XOR radios to 802.11a. Did you check that.

Hello Arshadsaf,

this is a good point. I will chek that.

But why is the following AP appearing in the output of the command "show advanced 802.11b summary"

only in the last part of the output with following line ?

KHN-AP185 1c:6a:7a:e9:55:00 0 ENABLED UP 1* *1/6 (16 dBm) N/A

The 3 lines with RxNbrs, TxNbrs and Util-info are missing.

It is a CAP2702i-AP, which is not participatin in FRA, because it has no XOR-antenna for example.

Kind regards

Wini
