WLC 5520 Web Auth Issue

I have one SSID with web-auth enable.

When connected to this SSID, it does not redirect web-auth page.

If I use other method than web-auth, works just fine.

Previously I used WLC 5508. Same SSID, interface and using web-auth. It works.

WLC5520 image 8.2.161.0

WLC5508 image 8.0.133.0

Appreciate if you guys can advise.

Do you have dynamic interface configured as AP manager?

Not sure if you are hitting this bug.. it affects only 5520 or 8500WLC

workaround is to : Configure the AP manager on management WLC not on a dynamic interface

Hello,

Unless you are facing a very specific bug, this should work, however, with the information you provide is difficult to advise.

On thing you should take a look is DNS service, usually WLC have trouble when DNS is not properly working.

To further assist please provide WLC config, more information about your environment and run some debugs.

debug web-auth redirect enable

debug client

-If I helped you somehow, please, rate it as useful.-

I will be more than happy to provide more information :)

I was hoping it is a bug. I just changed to WLC 5520.

DNS is working fine. If I use WPA2, 802.1x or WEP, it works just fine.

As I mention in my post, same VLAN and same SSID. Its not working when I use web-auth (authentication).

However if I swing back to WLC5508, it works.

Again, same VLAN and SSID.

I did run debug web-auth redirect enable but nothing came out from the log relating to this debug.

I will try debug client and see where it takes me.
