WLC 9800-40 HA

Hi,

I have a task to deploy new 9800-40 WLC's in HA mode with RMI+IP. So want to know how many IP's do we need for this requirement? some articles say 4 and some say 3. My understanding is as below, correct me if i am wrong. Current IOS is 17.3.

WLC -1 :

MGMT IP (OOB)

WMI IP

RMI IP

WLC - 2 :

MGMT IP (OOB)

RMI IP

when i select standby mode, below is what i see.

You need 4, but one will disappear after the connection is made.  You want to keep this in case you break HA in the future.
